<span class="jobdescription"><p><strong>Role Description:</strong> The Patient Financial Recovery Specialist will provide customer service to hospital patients who have questions on their accounts and assist them in settling their patient responsibility balances.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Roles & Responsibilities </strong></p> <ul> <li>Respond to incoming patient calls and initiate outbound calls to patients using our automated dialing system.</li> <li>Aid patients in managing their accounts, which includes arranging payment options for outstanding balances.</li> <li>Process credit card payments efficiently over the phone.</li> <li>Identify and gather updated insurance information.</li> <li>Investigate "Explanation of Benefits" from insurance providers to understand payment details and discrepancies.</li> <li>Evaluate patients for charity eligibility, address general inquiries, and resolve account-related issues and concerns.</li> <li>Seamlessly navigate multiple patient account systems and payment platforms.</li> <li>Maintain precise and current information in account notes within the relevant systems.</li> <li>Consistently achieve designated collection and productivity objectives as assigned by management.</li> <li>Uphold strict confidentiality when handling account information.</li> <li>Adhere to the established policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and the Employee Code of Conduct.</li> <li>Actively engage in the Corporate Compliance Program and maintain a vigilant awareness of its guidelines.</li> <li>Ensure a confidential and well-organized remote work area.</li> <li>Provide assistance with other projects as directed by management.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="display:none">Top of Form</span></p> <p><span style="display:none">Top of Form</span><strong>Preferred Educational Qualifications </strong></p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent required.</li> </ul> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>Preferred Work Experience</strong></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Prefer previous experience with providing customer service and work within a call center environment</li> <li>Prefer previous experience with the medical billing process</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Competencies & Skills</strong></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in effective communication with patients, colleagues, and management, whether in-person or via remote virtual chat platforms.</li> <li>Consistently maintain a courteous and professional demeanor.</li> <li>Self-discipline to stay focused and productive with minimal supervision.</li> <li>Exhibit initiative and creativity in fulfilling job responsibilities.</li> <li>Skillfully prioritize multiple tasks through time management and organizational abilities.</li> <li>Possess a strong command of PC operations and the capacity to type at a rate of 30-40 words per minute.</li> </ul> </span>
